Carlton Plants is a wholesale grower specializing in bareroot trees (shade, ornamental, and fruit), ornamental shrubs, and rootstocks. We are pleased to announce our Internship Program for Spring & Summer 2016. The program is designed to provide professional education and hands on experience to college students. This is paid on the job training that includes exposure to all phases of bareroot production – from the tissue culture lab and greenhouse to the field and eventually to the customer. Additionally, specialized internships in Propagation are available.
Northwest Oregon is a wonderful place to spend a few months and provides a unique opportunity to apply the knowledge gleaned from the classroom. Weekends may be used to enjoy the fabulous recreational activities throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Carlton Plants has been growing in the Willamette Valley of Oregon for 125 years. The nursery now consists of over 1,750 acres of bareroot fields and 8 acres of propagation facilities. We are excited at the prospect of sharing our many years of experience and knowledge with domestic and international students alike. These internships will be most applicable to students in Horticulture, Botany, Plant Pathology, Crop and Soil Science, and Agriculture Education majors.
Deadline to apply for spring 2016 is December 1, 2015; for summer 2016 the deadline is January 31, 2016. For more information or an application, you may contact:
